I've lost access to my account

Forgotten password, lost two-factor device, or the only owner has left.

You have forgotten your password

Use the reset link on the sign-in page. If the email does not arrive, I’m not receiving emails is the one to read, and the spam folder is the first place to look.

You have lost your two-factor device

When you turned two-factor on you were given recovery codes. Any one of them gets you in, and each works once. They are the reason the codes exist, so if you saved them, now is the time.

If you did not save them, an owner or admin in your workspace cannot reset it for you either, by design: an account somebody else can unlock is not protected by two-factor. Email support@talkfront.app from the address on the account and we will work through verifying who you are.

Expect that to take longer than you would like. It is meant to.

A colleague has left and taken the account with them

If they were an owner, and they are the only one, this needs us. Email support@talkfront.app from a company address and explain the situation.

If there is another owner or admin, they can remove the person and promote somebody. See removing someone who has left.

The lesson worth taking either way: have two owners. It costs nothing and it turns this from an incident into an afternoon.

Your invitation expired or went to the wrong address

Ask an owner or admin to resend it from Settings → Team. An invitation is tied to the address it was sent to, so one sent to a typo cannot be forwarded and used; it has to be cancelled and sent again.

You can sign in but everything has gone

Check which workspace you are in, using the switcher at the top of the sidebar. If you belong to more than one, it is easy to be looking at an empty one and conclude the worst.

What we will and will not do

We will help you back into an account you can show is yours.

We will not hand an account to somebody on the strength of an email saying it is theirs, however plausible or urgent. If that seems unhelpful in the moment, it is the same rule protecting your account from somebody else on a day you are not watching.
